Is there a such thing as selective mono? Because he seems to only be affected by it when he's facing a fearlss opponent.

  1. What the fuc* r u saying? Federer lost to a r****d. I am tired to see that when nadal lose in the tournament first, then federer does. i don't get that s**+*t.

  2. I don't think Roger played all that badly, its just that Stepanek played a brilliant match and threw Roger off with his unpredictable style of play.  As you say, he was "fearless" and proved that rushing the net can work on clay.  There are so few serve and volleyers left on tour that Roger was clearly uncomfortable hitting passing shot after passing shot.  He would do well to remember this tactic and employ it himself should he face Nadal again at Roland Garros.  Brilliant match by Stepanek who is clearly one of the smartest players on tour.  Roger can't blame this one on mono!

  3. Fed isn't blaming this loss on mono so why are you people getting all anti on him. I think your an absolute tosser if you believe he made the whole thing up at the start of the yr (remember he spent a day in hospital and pulled out of the tourny b4 the aussie open, so he didnt just make it up after he lost) and I seriously think you can put his losses at Aus and Dubai down to mono. But not the ones after that, when he said he was healthy just outta practise. And Fed hasn't actually done badly compared to last yr if u discount Aus and Dubai. He only made it to the 3rd round in Rome last year (so hes actually done better), and the final in Monte Carlo. He never won Indian Wells or Miami. So why when he loses this year is he suddenly losing his touch? Fed got upset last night, just like Rafa did against Ferrero and Djok against Kevin Anderson not that long ago, but nobody is saying their career is up. And Fed played really well in Monte Carlo, beating Nalbandian and Djok. It just sucks he had 2 lose last night. But this guy also beat Ferrer, and hes hardly an amatuer. So I think Fed should be cut some slack, start worrying if he goes out in the early rounds of Wimbledon or something, for now, I don't really think his tennis has got any worse, and remember how much more he loves the 5 setters. And for the guy who said the shakespeare thing, is that MacBeth? Cos if it is, MacBeth kinda got his crown in a different way...

  4. Federer is losing his game to *********,  he can't blame mono all the time

  5. Nah Fed is healthy. Radek just outplayed him and deserved to win.

  6. MONO LASTS LONGER THAN YOU ALL THINK!!!

    IT'S SO UNFAIR!!!

YOU HATERS JUST WAIT AND SEE if in the future they discover Roger is diagnosed with permanent mono or not!!!

    *CRY*

    TRUST WHAT THE DOCTOR SAYS,

to those of you who don't belive his mono, do you kno S**t about health issues??

  7. First of all this is Federer's "weakest" surface. Secondly, I personally feel Stepanek is far under rated and shoudl be feared by all opponents. ONly due to his injury at the start of last season and slipping in the rankings, has he stormed through tournaments since and got his ranking back up. Not where it was, but will be there soon enough. Stepanek on all surfaces is a force to reckon with and in my eyes will be an underdog favorite to win any match.  This mono thing, is too much sounding like Henin and her "viruses".

  8. Who knows if it was a mono loss. It could have been. The possibility is there. Look it up or ask a doctor how long it can lasts.

All Fed fans this year are hoping the mono is totally out of his system. We are all hoping with all our might that it is not permanent, as that is a possiblity.

Henin and Ancic both had mono, and same with a bunch of other players.

You have got to be kidding when you think Roger went from winning everythikng to losing a lot in a month. Obviously something is askew, that much at least you can admit, if you're honest.

  9. Haha!  My thoughts exactly.  Maybe he should take some serious time off to recover, like Ancic did last year for 6 months.  That is if Federer indeed ever really did have mono.  I still have my doubts.

  10. Personally, I don't believe Federer had mono. Obviously, I don't know any more than the people who says he did  but it's my gut feeling that he didn't or doesn't. I can't imagine someone with mono playing the kind of grueling matches he does.

I don't see any difference between his losses when he supposedly had mono and the ones when he didn't. Like his losses to Canas early last year or his loss to Murray the year before. He looked error proned and out of sorts just as he did against Djokovic in Australia.

I think what he's been feeling is pressure, not mono. He's getting close to the all time record and as Shakespeare said: "uneasy lies the head that wears the crown"

He's now 0-5 in major tournaments with one minor title in Estoril.

To Kaitepai: When he pulled out of the Exo before the Aussie Open the official word then was food poisoning. Somehow it miraculously morphed into mono.

The Shakespeare quote was not meant to be taken literally. Roger is not really a king and does not literally wear a crown.

  11. It's simple, he wins, everything's hunky-dory, he loses, he was rusty or mono came back.

In short, his opponent can never win on their own ability. Federer has to play badly or have some ailment for the opponent to win.

  12. You Nadal/Federer fans are really strange. If Federer loses, then he does, thats just the game. Sometimes there are reasons for losses, like health etc, other times it's because of real good competition. Federer was sick, who wants to deny that is retarded. Nadal was blistered. Whether it affected there game, it's up to you to know, because it seems everyone on this site has gotten mono, or received blisters on a tough tennis schedule. And Radek is a seriously good player, far overlooked and well underrated. I am a Federer fan, and I knew in the past Federer got some challenge from him, so I expected it to be tough. So I think the loss was due to Radek's resurgence.
