Stepaside Bigjak looking to blast out and make all in Sheffield Stadium Standard - Dup
Things revolve only around Stepaside Bigjak - the local stalwart - who is looking very solid in Tuesday’s Sheffield Stadium Standard – Dup despite a very tricky draw here at Sheffield.
His recent efforts speak for himself. On his penultimate ride, the white and black dog crushed the opposition with ease. Despite getting crowded right at the start, J. Smith’s charge maintained the standards, and won the race by 1¾ lengths.
His previous outing was just an unlucky event. He got crowded right in the beginning, and with a powerful opposition around, it was very difficult for him to make an impression. Lady Luck also didn’t show any mercy on him, as he missed the runner-up spot
only by a neck’s distance.
Having done reasonably well in the recent times, the son of Si Senor looks in a good position to enjoy the glory. He knows these conditions very well, and has done plenty of damage here in the past.
So, one needs a big heart to look elsewhere for the winner. Among his opponents are: Glynnscrosschief, Clerihan Gold, Right Foot, Glanmire Jet, and Shaheen Express.
A cash prize of 200 pounds is waiting for the successful hound. The affair will be begun by the officials at 19:58 GMT.
A switch to red could prove interesting for Right Foot. The fawn dog did an awful job last time around, when finishing fifth after getting crowded at the first bend. He has done well in the trials, and from the first box, there are a few things in his favour.
As far as Glanmire Jet’s chances are concerned, trials have been better than the races so far. Glynnscrosschief was in the wars on both starts. However, a fast trial showed that he has something to show.
Shaheen Express has run many races from the first box at Doncaster lately. It will be interesting to see how he performs from the fifth trap that is not very familiar place for him. Clerihan Gold has good stamina, and ran pretty well behind Stepaside Bigjak
last time. The brindle dog can produce a similar result here.
