Stephan Bonnar has a strategy to beat Anderson Silva – UFC News
UFC light heavyweight fighter Stephan Bonnar believes it is best to keep Anderson Silva on the ground in order to beat him. Bonnar, who was about to retire but is now facing the champion, believes it is only chance to prove his worth. However, most analysts
have already rated a huge win for Silva.
“If I could find a weakness or work him over on the ground, that’s great. But if I can’t and I’m forced to fight one of those blood-and-gut fights – I know he’s really accurate with his strikes. I know that. I’m going to get hit. I just need to keep pushing
forward. That’s what I do,” said Bonnar in an interview with MMAJunkie.
“All I do know is when I get in there, I can’t help but fight my a*s off. I can’t help but just give it everything I’ve got. If I’m not sleeping, I’m going to keep coming. I know no other way,” he added.
Known as the American Psycho, Bonnar is not as tough of an opponent for Silva as Chael Sonnen. Silva stands with an unbeaten record and is for sure the best MMA fighter in the world today. He is not intimidated by Bonnar and he has already claimed that the
only reason accepted the fight was for his fans.
Bonnar, on the other hand, believes this is his opportune moment to end his career with a fairytale climax. He believes if he can defeat Silva, then he will be more famous than any point in his career, and that he would be able to do everything he always
wanted to.
As of now, Bonnar is quite excited to face the champion. In his long UFC career, he has never been an elite fighter and even now he is not. He was handpicked by Dana White when other fighters declined the notion of fighting Silva. If Bonnar is able to win,
which is quite a rarity, he will march towards fame and money he has never seen before.
On the other hand, Silva is not even talking about his strategies to beat Bonnar, as he already knows what will happen in the cage.
