In one of the most stretched transfer sagas of the summer, the Cameroon international has chosen to leave the Stade Velodrome in a favour to a move to Queens Park Rangers
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865 international Stephane Mbia. Since his arrival at the Stade Velodrome, the 26-year-old has been an integral part of the first-team.
However, the former Stade Rennais has never made a secret of his desire to one day play in the English Premier League. And, it is Queens Park Rangers who are very keen on acquiring the versatile midfielder’s services.
Mark Hughes has deemed Joey Barton insufficient to requirements and is willing to offload the troublesome midfielder to the Canebiere club and swap for Mbia in his place.
And, it now appears that the Englishman will not get his wish as Mbia has confirmed that he will leave the 2010 champions of France for the London club. While talking to media, Mbia revealed that Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce approached him but he
has chosen to join the Hoops instead.
“I chose Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 despite a last minute offer from Fenerbahce. This is a new challenge. I want to go even higher. I agree with this championship (Premier League). I will discover another world.”
Although the chosen destination is not a big European club but Mbia sees a great project in the making at Loftus road. Many people in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 are seeing the move to QPR as a step down in his career but Mbia sees otherwise.
“You handle words better than me, you are highly educated,” responded the Cameroonian to a reporter who asked about his career choice.
“I do not want to go there (the topic). I have not had much luck in the last two seasons at OM, I had many injuries. I want to have a great season, have one and become one of the best central defenders in the world.”
Mbia was injured a lot during his time at Velodrome but one cannot call the player a poor investment considering the fact that he slotted in well in a variety of positions.
