The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865 international is keen on seeking a new challenge and Olympique de Marseille might be able to sell the defender by the end of this week
“No one is moving anywhere but this week should be busier,” said a member of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 management while talking to Le Provence. Olympique de Marseille’s transfer window has not really taken off by any means but the management now expects
things to change.
The club’s financial plight has forced it to sell first before buying so there should be a few departures in the coming days. Reports now claim that it is Cameroon international Stephane Mbia who would be the first to leave Stade Velodrome this summer.
The 26-year-old midfielder, who can also operate in defence, has long been linked with a move away from the Canebiere.
Even if he does not really want to leave Les Phoceens, Mbia would be asked by his club’s owners to consider making a switch. Though he has been an integral part of the squad for the past three seasons, Mbia commands a good fee in the transfer market and
Marseille would want to capitalise on it.
Economic difficulties have forced Les Phoceens’ management to consider selling one of their most important players. The former Stade Rennais man would also be open to a move to a new club as the player has himself admitted of his desire to seek a new challenge
in the future.
Under contract at the Velodrome until June 2014, the Yaounde-born player should expect a few concrete offers coming his way this summer.
A few English Premier League and German Bundesliga sides are reportedly interested in the services of the defender. Although no concrete offer has arrived, it is expected that the player will be contacted by a few admirers soon.
So far, les Phoceens have not been able to sell any player. The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steve-Mandanda-c34177, Andre Ayew, Loic Remy and a few others were linked with moves away from the Rhone club but so far, nothing has materialised.
Now, it appears that Stephane Mbia would be the player who might unlock the club’s transfer window.
