AS Saint-Etienne have been really impressive this season but Les Verts’ goalkeeper is taking nothing for granted and is expecting a stern test from AC Ajaccio on Friday
Saint-Etienne are arguably the most in-form team in the Ligue 1 at the moment, and after beating Paris Saint-Germain twice in a month, Les Verts have shown the world what they are capable of.
Christophe Galtier’s side will next travel to Stade François Coty, to take on AC Ajaccio in their next Ligue 1 clash. And despite being the clear favourites against the struggling Ligue 1 outfit, ASSE shot-stopper, Stephane Ruffier, is taking nothing for
granted and has urged his teammates to show the same team spirit that helped them get pass through Paris Saint-Germain in Coupe de la Ligue.
While talking to reporters, the Frenchman said that Saint-Etienne need to continue their fine run of form and they can’t think that they are better than the rest, because that could destroy them.
"We want to continue our good run and as usual, we will play to win but we will need the same team spirit. If we think we are better than everyone else, just because we have beaten Paris twice in a month, we will get a smack.”
Talking about the match, the 26-year-old said that Ajaccio will have the advantage of playing in front of their supporters and they are in dire need of points which will make things difficult for Les Verts on Friday.
"Ajaccio are playing in front of their fans, and we will be wary that they need to take points."
On the other hand, Ajaccio coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Dupont has praised Friday’s opponents and is expecting a stern test from the visitors. The coach said that Saint-Etienne are in fine form at the moment and it won’t be easy for his side to get a positive result but
is remaining confident nonetheless.
"St Etienne have qualified for a semi-final and they are the form team at the moment. They play well on the counter-attack, with quick and effective forwards, and we have to put them in difficulty.”
