After the major, the British Championship Open it is again time for the European Tour to continue with its normal season. One of the most prestigious events on the European golf Tour, the Lyoness Open is on its way.
The venue for this auspicious event is the Diamond Golf Course, Atzenbrugg. The four-day event starts from the 25th of July and ends on the 28th of July.
The biggest names in the world of golf have gathered here to fight for glory. Tremendous amount of hype has been created for the tournament. Fans have huge amount of expectations from the Austrian Open.
Before the play got suspended due to rain, some players were playing some exceptional golf, while others failed to impress the spectators.
Stephen Gallacher and Lloyd Kennedy are two players who did not have anything special in their game. Stephen Gallacher had a very bad start, as he teed off with two consecutive bogeys on the first two holes. After a par, another bogey followed.
From that point onwards, the Scottish professional golfer turned his game around. Towards the end, he managed to bag two birdies on the sixth and ninth hole.
There were no double bogeys or eagles on the front nine. These made his score one-over par after the first nine holes. His back nine score was better than his front nine score.
His back nine consisted only of a single birdie on the twelfth hole, which made his score one-under on the back nine.
Lloyd Kennedy had a similar day to Gallacher. He also had a bad start to the tournament. He started his day with a bogey and a double bogey on the first and second hole, respectively.
He scored a birdie on the fourth and another bogey on the eighth. These made his score three-over par on the front nine.
Kennedy’s back nine was much better than his front nine. He started off with three consecutive birdies that started from the tenth hole.
After two pars, he managed another birdie on the fifteenth. He ended his day with a bogey on the last hole. These made his score three under par in the back nine.
Both the players had par score and completed the 72 par course in 72 shots. Before the round was stopped due to the weather conditions, both the players were tied at the forty seventh position.
