Stephen Hendry cannot wait for John Higgins clash in 2012 World Snooker Championship
After putting on a great show in the opening round of the 2012 World Snooker Championship against Stuart Bingham, the former seven-time World Snooker Champion Scotland’s Stephen Hendry clinched his first win at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
With his classy win in the opening round, Hendry has now set up John Higgins clash in the next stage. The game will surely be a thriller and Hendry cannot wait to see Higgins at the baize against him.
The All-Scotland second round clash is expected to produce fireworks in at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield. Higgins always wanted Hendry clash in the Championship and now he has got a chance to play against the veteran potter.
On the other hand, Hendry is also looking forward to show his class against the four-time World Snooker Championship winner and have a blast at the arena in the presence of thousands of snooker fans.
Snooker fans from around the world are also waiting anxiously for the clash where the titans will battle for the quarter-final spot. Both cuemen have played against each other many times in the past two seasons before Higgins was victorious in all matches.
However, Hendry has started his Championship campaign brilliantly beating Bingham and is feeling very confident. He believes that his match against Higgins will be quite interesting.
While speaking to World Snooker, Hendry said, “John Higgins and I have never played each other at the Crucible, which is a phenomenal stat. I can't wait, I'm really looking forward to it. Last year he won it not at his best at any stage, but he just refuses
to go down.”
The 43-year-old added, “His B game is better than about 80% of other people's A game. He always refuses to get beat, he's a phenomenal competitor. Playing the first round as a qualifier, you've got less to lose which is a different feeling; most of the pressure
is on the other guy.”
The game is going to be one of the tournament’s most stunning competitions as both players are mentally ready for the challenge. It will be interesting to see how Hendry manages to put in a good performance against Higgins in the 2012 World Snooker Championship.
