Stephen Hendry looking for healthy competition against Jimmy White in 2012 Snooker Legends Cup
Former seven-time World Snooker Champion from Scotland. Stephen Hendry will soon be heading to Bedworth challenge to take part in his first Snooker Legends Cup. The veteran ensures he will give his best in the tournament as he is playing in the event for
the first time. He will be playing as a part of Cliff Thorburn’s team against Jimmy White who represents Dennis Taylor’s team of snooker legends.
The event will feature the likes of Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, John Parrott, Tony Drago, Ken Doherty, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Dennis Taylor and Cliff Thorburn. The players have been the top potters of their time and will be together again to relive the finest
memories of their lifetime. The 2012 Snooker Legends Cup has given them an opportunity to recall their past memories.
The most astounding moment of the evening would be the singles match between Hendry and White. The pair has met four times before in the final encounters of four World Snooker Championships. However, Hendry was victorious in all those four events despite
the hard struggle White put into the finals.
Speaking to the local media about his excitement, Hendry said, “It’s my first year on the legends tour so I’m looking forward to it. Everyone has told me really good things about it. It’s exhibition snooker so it’s not as serious, it’s more light hearted.
I was really pleased to be invited onto the legends tour because it’ll be fun and it’s a new challenge.”
The Golden Boy added, “The last few years we’ve not played each other as much. I’ve had some great battles with all the players including Jimmy. Those games I played against him still get mentioned and I’m sure he’s looking forward to the Legends Tour as
much as me. I just enjoy playing. It’s all I know how to do”
The 2012 Snooker Legend Cup will commence from May 12, 2012 right after the finish of 2012 World Snooker Championship on May 7. The tournament has already attracted attention of many snooker lovers who want to see their past heroes in action again at the
Civic Hall arena in Bedworth.
