Stephen Jackson wants to play alongside Derrick Rose; Heck, he just wants to play – NBA Update
Among the class of travellers in NBA, Stephen Jackson is an elite.
In a career that started in 1997, the versatile forward has been a part of basketball leagues in Australia, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic, not to mention the seven NBA franchises – New Jersey Nets, San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta
Hawks, Indian Pacers, Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Bobcats and now the Milwaukee Bucks - he has been affiliated with.
Now, it seems that the 33 year old winger is all set to embark on yet another journey and one of the possible destinations may be the Chicago Bulls, the team which beat the Bucks at the buzzer last night while Jackson watched Derrick
Rose unravel his brilliance at the death.
After the game, Aggrey Sam of CSNChicago.com asked Jackson if he’d want to be traded to the Bulls and the answer was prompt;
“Who wouldn’t want to play with Derrick Rose?” he said. “Right up the street; it would be a great fit for me.”
But his top priority for now is to play. Scott Skiles, the Bucks coach is as tough a coach as they get in NBA and Jackson is certainly not on his right side. In the month of February alone, Scott has given only two 30 plus outings
to Jackson and in the last three game, Jackson had had a combined 40 minutes on the floor with just 6 points. It was therefore not hard to feel his frustration as he continued;
“I don’t think anybody in the league would say they wouldn’t want to do that, but me, at the end of the day, I just want to play. I’ve been a competitor my whole career, I’ve won everywhere I’ve went, so at this point, I just want
to get back on the court and do what I do best, wherever that is.”
The March 15 trade deadline is just around the corner and Stephen who was once described by Tim Duncan as the best teammates one could have might be a very good choice for the Bulls, especially considering the fact that their gamble
on the veteran Richard Hamilton has proven disastrous so far. Even if Jackson does not land in Chicago, he would be happy if just gets the h**l out of Milwaukee.
