Stephen Lee visits Derby Junior Snooker Club to help young talent with his coaching tips
England’s Stephen Lee played convincingly in the 2011-12 Snooker Season and was able to win the 2011-12 Players Tour Championship (PTC) Grand Finals after beating the former World Snooker Championship winner from Australia, Neil Robertson by the score line
of 4-0. The English potter is now aiming to start a strong run in the 2012-13 Snooker Season.
However, the new snooker season has begun with the commencement of the 2012 Asian PTC events where Lee performed impressively to reach the final encounter against the winner of the 2011 Australian Goldfields Open Stuart Bingham. Lee and Bingham had a great
tussling encounter of the PTC Grand Finals where Bingham was victorious by the score line of 4-3.
Lately, the Englishman is spending a lot of time with the young talent giving them snooker tips and tricks. Recently he visited the Derby Junior Snooker Club where he met the young potters and gave them some important snooker tips they needed to know. The
youngsters present there welcomed one of the top guns of the game with open arms.
While speaking to the local media, Junior club founder Roger Stevenson-Revill said, “Here at Derby Junior Snooker Club, we have been lucky enough to welcome many of the world's top players, and we were thrilled that Stephen was able to join us for the day.”
He added, “The kids have had the opportunity to meet, play and learn from one of the best players in the world. It is so exciting for junior players to be able to do this, and we are very grateful to Stephen for giving up his time.”
Before that, the Englishman paid a visit to the Rileys Cueball Club in Derby where he played matches with the children and upcoming cuemen.
Meanwhile, the first major ranking snooker event of the new season, the 2012 Wuxi Classic snooker event, has begun at the Wuxi Sports Center arena in Wuxi, China. Lee is placed in the first round where he will be meeting with Scotland’s Marcus Campbell.
The match-up is going to be one of the interesting clashes of the event as both cuemen are in full swing.
