Steps to be a Patent Lawyer?

i have recently found interest in being a medial patent lawyer

but i am unsure which path to take?

i heard it basically being a pharmacist with 3 years of law?

can someone guide me in this?

i am considering to apply to USC as pre-pharm emphasis.

but i dont know what to do afterwards? which school for law, what else to study, or anything else? :/

  1. People who enter law school come from all different types of academic backgrounds from economics, psychology, philosophy to business and even the health professions. So graduating from USC with a bachelors degree in the medical field is perfectly fine, however once you do graduate you need to go to law school and obtain a J.D. Then pass all of the state exams including the bar.

    Once you have done this, you then need to apply for admission to take the patent examination administered by the USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office).
