Stereo Removal for Ford Escort Lx (1995)?

How do I remove the stock stereo in a 1995 ford escort lx. I have went on the internet and saw the tool that you use to remove it so i tried clothes hanger. but still nothing.

The tool you saw is the proper way to remove the radio. It has a groove milled on each tip to latch onto the retaining clips. Once you hear or feel them lock in you spread the tools outward and pull the radio out. Many have used bent coat hangers with no problem, but if they mess up the retaining clips, even the proper tools won't work.

You can buy the tools locally at most auto supply stores, Best Buy, or Circuit City.
