  1. What does your teacher mean by: ones that weren't meant to be in a movie or TV show?  All movies and TV shows are scripted, so a character is sought and fits the stereotype of the character...

  2. men are sometimes are almost always shown as the bad guy in a movie.

  3. young female singers are partiers and druggies, models are skinny and tall, sometimes with eating disorders, pavarazzi are mean and disrespectful.

  4. Not quite sure what you teacher means but here are a few ideas that I hope will help:

    1.  Men are shown as simplistic and childish, especially in advertising

    2.  Women are shown as happy-go-lucky or perfect mothers

    3.  In any scenario talking about a lack of control or someone being indulgent, it is always a woman, especially where chocolate is involved.

    4.  Women are often reduced to being the victim in need of help in movies: the leader is more likely to be male.

    5.  In horror movies, the black guy and the teenage bimbo always die first.

    6.  Any new character in a show such as Star Trek will come to a sticky end .  Hence the generic name "Ensign Expendable".  They will often be pretty blondes.

    7.  Certain ethnic groups are more likely to be villainous.  Blacks also usually have a whole lot of racial stereotyping.

    8.  America always wins, and is often cast as as the underdog, which is quite unbelievable. (see "The Mighty Ducks" movies)

    9.  Catholic Christianity is almost always the only type that appears in movies.

    Hope these help
