Steve Clarke claims Liverpool have no special plans for Manchester United – EPL News
Liverpool assistant boss Steve Clarke has revealed that the Reds will not make any special preparations for the upcoming Premier League clash with fierce rivals Manchester United.
The two teams are set to lock horns at Anfield on Saturday, October 15, 2011.
The Merseyside club will host the English Champions two days after the end of the international break. A number of Liverpool first team players have been called up by their respective nations during the 10-day international break and only five to six players
are currently available.
Clarke has confirmed that the players will undergo routine preparation ahead of the fixture against the English Champions. However, the Reds assistant boss has bemoaned the unavailability of a number of players due to international break.
Clarke told http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s official website, “The preparations will be exactly the same. We don't get the full group to work with until the day before the game, which is disappointing but you just have to deal with it.”
Dalglish’s assistant confirmed that a number of first team players will report back on Wednesday, however, they will not start full training before Friday.
"The majority will be reporting in on Wednesday. We'll make sure they're okay after the internationals and do a light training session. It will be similar on Thursday,” the assistant manager added.
Liverpool now have only one day to fully prepare with the complete squad for the highly anticipated tie against the 19-time English Champions. Clarke has assured that the management is doing its best to fully prepare the Reds for the special encounter at
Anfield.
"Hopefully we'll have time on Friday to do a bit of team play and get them ready for the game, but it's a difficult situation. You just hope you get players coming back fit and well and you work on them mentally to make sure they're ready for such a big
game," Steve Clarke added.
Liverpool have an impressive record against Manchester United at Anfield. The Reds emerged victors last time when they hosted Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s men and the home side will be again aiming to get all three points this time around as well.
