Steve Crossley leaves Bradford Bulls - Rugby League
Bradford Bulls confirmed on Thursday, October 27, that Steve Crossley has left the franchise, although he still had a year remaining on his contract. This decision has been reached with the mutual consent of the club and the player, who had played only two
games with Bulls last season.
The Bradford Bulls football manager, Stuart Duffy, said, "Steve needs regular competitive football to keep developing his game. But with the rules at the moment the opportunities for him to play as an over-age player in the Under-20s competition will be
limited as well."
He went on and further added, "I'm pleased to say there's been quite a bit of interest from elsewhere so I don't expect Steve to be without a club for very long."
Bulls have been subjected to further change as their scrum-half, Cain Southernwood, will be moving to the Championship side Dewsbury Rams on to a year-long loan. The player has represented th eEnglish side at the academy level, joined in with Bulls 2009
and before that he also played for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
The manager further added about the departing prop, who will soon join the second tier club, said that Southernwood should realise it has a huge responsibility for himself to play at the much higher level.
He suggested that all the player needs to focus upon currently is to build-on his game by participating in matches on a regular weekly basis. In his viewpoint, this way he will be able to develop his game much more as that way he will be exposed to the tricks
of trade scrupulously.
It was further stressed upon by the manager that the player is on the stage where he must be exposed to a routine of this sort and fortunately this is what he is going to get at Dewsbury.
If the player takes up the current opportunity and makes the most of it, there is nothing else more fitting for him to enhance on his existing set of skills. His skills will get honed to perfection with the regular routine of playing.
