Steve Judd ousts Alan Trigg while Wendy Jans beats Tatjana Vasiljeva: 2011 European Snooker Championship
England’s Steve Judd grabbed the 2011 European Snooker Championship Masters’ title after defeating Ukraine’s Alan Trigg 6-4 while in the Ladies category, Wendy Jans ousted Tatjana Vasiljeva by 5-1
in the final. The 2011 European Snooker Championship was held at the Dedeman Hotel in Sofia from June 7 to 17.
The Nottingham potter, Judd made a strong impact winning the Masters title of European Snooker Championship 2011 in his first attempt. He outplayed his opponent, 52-year-old Trigg 7-4 with decent
knocks of 33, 58, 34, 42 and 68.
Judd took an early 2-0 lead in the match, winning the first two frames 66-51 and 66-15. Trigg pulled level at 2-2 clinching back-to-back frames with a superb half-century knock of 50 in the third
frame. The fifth frame was an easy one for Judd as he fired a small knock of 34 to win it in the end by 68-13.
After Judd led 3-2, Trigg made another superb run and grabbed two straight frames again to take the lead by 3-4 in the match. However, Judd stopped his opponent's winning run, taking next three frames
to win the final match by 6-4.

On the other hand, Wendy Jans displayed a scintillating performance in the final of 2011 European Snooker Championship Ladies category and defeated the 28-year-old Latvian, Tatjana Vasiljeva, by a
scoreline of 5-1 in the match.
The Belgian completely outplayed her opponent after the second frame, when she was level at 1-1. An impressive run of four consecutive frame victories at this stage brought her on top at 5-1 and she
was able to nudge Vasiljeva four frames down in the end.
