Benjani heading towards an Ewood Park exit
Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean revealed he felt it was time for Benjani, the 32-year-old Zimbabwean striker, to decide on his future. The club has offered him a new contract but Benjani has not yet agreed to it, which suggests he could be looking for a
move in the summer transfer window.
That seems hard to believe since it was Benjani who went on record earlier on in the summer, claiming that he wanted to stay at Ewood Park and was just waiting for Blackburn Rovers to offer him a contract extension, which would most likely keep him with
the club until his retirement.
However, an agreement has still not been reached and with the transfer window drawing to a close the Blackburn manager is keen to settle the matter. Kean revealed he was planning to have another talk with the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zimbabwe-c3045 international regarding his future.
Kean said while speaking to reporters:
“We have offered Benjani improved terms but I don't know if they will be enough.
I will have another conversation with him because we are getting to the time for a decision, for him and us.
Hopefully he can agree but we totally respect it if someone else is offering him better terms and we would wish him all the best. Hopefully that isn't the case though.”
Benjani joined Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 from Manchester City after a loan spell with Sunderland on a one year deal on a free transfer. He made a total of 18 appearances in the Premier League and found the back of the net thrice.
Radosav Petrovic to Blackburn Rovers
Blackburn Rovers have successfully completed the signing of Radosav Petrovic, the 22-year-old midfielder, from Partizan Belgrade for an undisclosed fee on a long-term four year deal. The Serbian holding midfielder could go on to make his debut this weekend,
having received his work permit.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Serbia-c3002 international was named in the Serbian SuperLiga Team of the Year twice in a row after his impressive form for Partizan. He made a total of 107 appearances in all competitions and scored 20 goals, an impressive goal tally for a defensive midfielder.
