The 50-year-old English trainer attended the club’s games twice upon invitation. He was pleased with his former side competing for silverware this season as well. Shedding light on the all important Ajax-Twente clash, the tactician expressed that the side
with superior mental strength will emerge victorious.
McClaren said, “Sunday’s title fight against Ajax in the Amsterdam Arena is not about tactics. It's only about who is stronger mentally.”
The 50-year-old tactician reveals that whenever he sees his former team playing and winning matches, he feels proud. He said, “If there is one thing that makes me really proud is when they win matches.”
The Tukkers have played brilliantly throughout the ongoing season. Consequently, they sit atop the Eredivisie table and with only one round left to go in the season, they have every right to remain confident of successfully defending their title.
