McManaman claimed that this is the time for the winger to leave. He admitted that the player is in the best form of his career and it is the perfect time for him to join a big club. He stated that if a club of the stature of Real Madrid or Barcelona are
willing to sign the midfielder, Bale will certainly go for the opportunity.
“If he ever has the opportunity to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona I would never say ‘no’ to them. I think sooner or later, whether it’s this year or next year, he needs to be playing against the best people in the world,” he was quoted as saying in an
interview.
The former Real Madrid striker stated that Bale is one of the best players in the world at the moment and admitted that the winger will be playing amongst some of the best players in the world in the near future.
McManaman added that even if the player decides to stay at Tottenham, the club should be aiming for a place in the UEFA Champions League at the end of the upcoming season as anything less than that would ensure an exit for the winger.
“He needs to be testing himself against the best players in the world because he is arguably one of the best players in the world on current form. Sooner rather than later he’ll want to be playing in the Champions League and if Tottenham can’t deliver that
this year I think they’re going to struggle to hold on to him,” he concluded.
Gareth Bale scored a stunning 26 goals last season for Tottenham Hotspur and accumulated eight assists in the process.
