Steve McNamara leaves Bradford
Bradford Bulls have parted company with coach Steve McNamara, following the club’s dire form of late, which has seen them lose their last seven matches.
McNamara was already due to leave the Bulls when his deal expired at the end of the season to become England coach on a full-time basis, but the club has terminated his contract earlier than planned in order to save their season.
Assistant coach Lee St Hilaire has been named caretaker boss for the rest of the 2010 campaign, starting with Sunday's Super League clash with Salford.
McNamara said on the club’s official website: "I should like to thank all the players and staff at this great Club for their undivided commitment whilst I have been in charge. I wish the Club every success, now and in the future.”
The Bulls have stated that they will not rush into appointing a successor to McNamara, but reports are already speculating that current St Helens boss Mick Potter is the man that Bradford want.
For McNamara, he will start preparing his England squad for the end-of-season Four Nations series against Australia and New Zealand.
