Steve McNamara says consistency and continuity will put team in good position
While addressing the press conference that brought together all four participating countries at London’s cafe Hard Rock on Friday, November 4, England’s head coach, Steve McNamara, shared that his side should only focus on keeping their efforts steady and
streamlined if they wish to walk out triumphant.
England has already won twice before they meet Australia in contention at Wembley, on Saturday. England proved their dominance over the French side in their warm-up clash ahead of the kick-off of the Gillette Four Nations. The warm-up win added to their
already soaring morale, which was boosted by another 42-4 victory over last weekend against Wales. These two consecutive wins by the English side has hiked up their confidence, as they are all set to meet the Kangaroos.
English coach is not only focusing on Saturday’s encounter but they are looking to walk out of the series as title-holders this year.
McNamara beamed full-confidence over his side’s exceptional on-field skills. He added that if his side gets lucky in clinching the title this year, the stakes are high for gaining back the dwindling popularity of rugby league amongst the masses.
Expressing his side’s strong standing, McNamara, stressed upon the need of keeping up with the hard work that has gone into the games. He is happy with his line-up too, that is why that has remained unchanged for the Saturday’s clash.
Commenting about their game plan for the Saturday’s showdown, the English coach said, "For where we're at, at this moment in time, I feel that consistency and continuity will put us in a good position. It's a real credit to the medical staff and everyone
involved and also the players who have looked after themselves very well. You do need an element of good fortune to have come through two games and numerous tough physical training sessions in good health."
England has so far used only 17 out of their 24-man squad as they are convinced over their retention.
The obvious stronger out of the two teams, is Australia but England is also going to give a tough competition to the Wallabies as they are going pretty strong into the campaign, because all players are exhibiting full form.
