The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational comes to an end. For this event, the elite golfers of the world gathered on one stage to fight it out for the championship.
The stage for this prestigious event was the Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio, USA. The four day event started on the 2nd of August and it ended on the 5th of August.
The four days of the invitational were filled with excitement. All the players tried their level best to impress the spectators, some succeeded while other failed. Nonetheless, in the end there could be only one champion and in this tournament, it was Keegan
Bradley.
Steve Stricker was another player who had an outstanding tournament and played exceptional rounds of golf. He completed the course in 68 shots on the first three rounds of the tournament.
These made his score six-under par at the end of the third day. His start was slow but steady. His consistent game helped him in the end. After the three days Stricker was five strokes behind the leader of the tournament at that time, Jim Furyk.
The American professional golfer played an exceptional last round. He had a slow start but later on, he improved his game and became a bit more aggressive.
On the front nine, Stricker had only two birdies, on the fifth and eighth hole. These made his total score eight-under par. He had a very strong back nine on the last day.
He managed to score a birdie on the fourteenth hole which was followed by a par. He had an amazing end to his tournament, as he carded three consecutive birdies on the last three holes starting from the sixteenth.
There were no eagles, bogeys or double bogeys on the day. These made his score six-under par for the day and his total score climbed up to twelve-under par.
Steve Stricker ended the tournament tied on the second spot with Jim Furyk. The pair was just one stroke behind the leader of the tournament, Keegan Bradley. He had a score of thirteen-under par for the tournament.
