Steve Williams blasts out at Tiger Woods yet again ahead of the President’s Cup
Bad-mouthing Steve Williams is now turning habitual with his constant diatribe against his former boss Tiger Woods. Speaking about his relationship with the former world number one, Williams has again made headlines saying that he should have left Woods
when the player was in his prime. Williams thinks that it is always better to quit on the peak of your time than to quit while your career is in doldrums.
“I think everything you do in life, you’d like to go out on a high as opposed to a low,” Williams said in an interview on Monday, November 14. “Looking back, perhaps after Tiger competed down here in Australia at the Australian Masters, it was a very memorable
win. I really enjoyed that tournament. That was the last event he played before all the events transpired. Perhaps I should have, you know, left him then.”
Many of the celebrated players have time and again expressed their dissatisfaction over Williams’ constant outburst against Woods and many have criticised his remarks regarding it as unceremonious of a caddie to speak to media about his former boss. Williams’
recent rage against his former boss could trigger a domino effect where the caddies will feel free to bad-mouth about their former bosses in public.
Woods fired Williams a few months back without citing any reasons, causing the Kiwi to take on the offensive against the 14-major-winner. Williams went to the extent of hurling racial abuses at Woods in public gathering at the Australian Open and was severely
criticised for his reckless remarks. He later apologised for his outburst.
On a question of how he viewed his relationship with his former boss especially after his racial cursing, Williams said, “Time will tell. It’s a hard question to answer. Time will tell. We’ll see what transpires.”
Woods is now crouching for the coveted President’s Cup title at the Royal Melbourne this week where he probably would be facing the Aussie Adam Scott and his caddie Williams in Match Play format. After a brilliant finish at the Australian Open last week,
Woods has resurfaced as a potent threat to the International Team and is probably hoping to finally turn the tide for the better. He has not won a single title since 2009.
