Seriously?  Hall of famer how is basically the personification of leadership or the third year Penguins player who has had a lot of success, but so did Lindros and it's not like he's headed for the hall.

I don't feel the need to choose an account of this being a very unfair, unreasonable comparison to make. I just don't understand why people are so obsessed with Sidney Crosby and/or why people ask so many questions involving him, no matter how unfair or unreasonable it is. Closet Sidfan, maybe?

Steve Yzerman for sure, why do you think the Red Wings have been so dominant for the last Brazillian years. He was the best leader in a long time and it paid off.

Rookie year....

80 games played - 30 goals, 50 assists = 89 points

2nd year....

51 games player - 14 goals, 28 assists = 42 points

Sidney Crosby...

Rookie Year...

81 games player - 39 goals, 63 assists = 102 points

2nd year...

79 games played - 36 goals, 84 assists = 120 points

+Hart Trophy, Leaster B. Pearson, and Art Ross

.....I'm not trying to stand up for Sid or make Sid look good or anything. That's not what i'm here for. (I'm always the first PENS fan to crack a joke about him) but you can't say Stevie Y had a better begining career!

Yzerman had a better full career but yet it's not fair to compare yet! Sid is only going into his 4th year of play!

I'm not going to add anything else but the fact that you would even ask who is better A RETIRED HALL OF FAMER or a 20 YEAR OLD BOY........blows my mind. It's almost like you want to hear the obvious answer so you can be reassured. That's why I always tell people the answer they don't want to hear.

I'm not a Crosby hater, nor do I particularly like him, but I don't think he will ever have the class that Stevie Y did. He may put up better career stats, but he's already shown us that he can be petulant at times.

Stevie Y is my choice.

Crosby is very good, but I couldn't replace Stevie Y with him.
