ok i don't get this, from what u understand, the panthers organization doesn't know what happened in the fight between some corner and steve smith, but they are suspending their best receiver for two games and the other guy had no punishment that makes no sense to me. also the panthers need to start of the season strong so they have momentum, but they won't play their best player for a fight. shouldn't they just give him a warning and put him on his way....please help me understand all that

  1. they gave him a warning and angermanagement in 2002 when he did it the first time

  2. just because hes good dosent mean he should be treated like a king, he punched someone, dosent matter if hes the best reciever or not, he still did it, what do you want them to do, not punish him??

  3. Use your god d**n brain.

Lucas Kent was covering Steve Smith in practice.  Steve Smith was whining like a little girl because kent was owning him.

Steve smith just punched in randomly in the face in training camp because kent was covering him really good.

Of course lucas kent shouldn't get punishment he was the victim.

No, the panthers are going to suck this year.

    5-11.  Delhomme sucks

  4. First of all it was Ken Lucas and ever since he came to Carolina in 04, he and Steve Smith have had problems with each other.  Ken Lucas got his nose broken by Smith, I believe Smith should get some punishment for it.  Panthers blow either way..

  5. There is more to it than that. Steve Smith has gotten in trouble before because he lost his temper. He is a repeat offender, so obviously he's going to get in more trouble. Even though he is their star player, they have to punish him because if they don't, what kind of message does that send to the rest of the team? A warning is like a slap on the wrist. He needs to know that if he can't control himself their will be serious consequences.

  6. Lucas Kent was on the sidelines down on one knee.

Smith walked up to him and just punched him in the face.

    Broke his nose.

That may effect Kent's chances of making the team.

The punishment fit the crime if you ask me.

  7. They had to show he isn't above the team.  Smith got into a fight with a teammate off the field again.  He clearly didn't learn the 1st time.  He has a long history of having anger problems which leads you and the team to believe that he started it again.

  8. This is what they know, the other player has a broken nose and Mr. Smith caused it.  It really does not matter what was said, it is what was done!!
