Steven Clarke hails Maxi Rodriguez’s professionalism – EPL News
Liverpool assistant coach, Steve Clarke, has hailed the professionalism shown by Maxi Rodriguez after the Argentinean hugely impressed in the 2-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Rodriguez, who joined the Merseyside club from Atletico Madrid in January 2010 transfer window, has failed to make a name of himself at Anfield. The 30-year-old struggled under the management of Rafael Benitez and Roy Hodgson, but Kenny Dalglish has rejuvenated
his career.
In the last six months of the previous season, Rodriguez became a vital member of Liverpool, scoring two hat-tricks and finished the campaign with 10 goals to his name.
Despite his impressive form last term, the 30-year-old failed to cement his place in Kenny Dalglish’s starting eleven this season.
Before the match against Chelsea, Rodriguez had featured only once in the Premier League and had made a total of four appearances in all competitions.

The 30-year-old took the opportunity with aplomb and went on to score the
opening goal at the Bridge. Liverpool went on to win the match against Villas-Boas’ men, as Glen Johnson’s late goal settled the tie 2-1 in favour of the Merseyside club.
The Reds assistant manager, Clarke, has hailed the professionalism of Rodriguez and was impressed with the performance put in by the Argentine international.

"Everybody here knows the qualities of Maxi. He's been unfortunate this year that he's not had an extended run in the team, but what it does say about him is that he is a complete professional.
"When you're not in the team, it's difficult to come in every day, work hard and be prepared for your chance. Maxi has worked hard every day in training. Not just Maxi, but all the squad of players - they've worked hard in training, they wait for their chance.
