Steven Defour excited about the prospect of playing for FC Porto, says agent – Liga Sagres News
According to Steven Defour’s agent, Paul Stefani, his client is excited and thrilled about the prospect of playing for Portuguese giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186, for whom he is about to complete a €6 million move in the upcoming weeks.
The 23-year-old talent has attracted attention from the likes of Manchester United in the past but is now set to complete a €6 million switch Estadio do Dragao.
Defour has allegedly been targeted by Porto as a replacement for Fredy Guarin, who is on the verge of signing for Italian outfit, AS Roma.
Guarin was one of the key men in the Portista line-up last year but is now thought to be seeking greener pastures elsewhere, with a move to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on the horizon. As his replacement, Porto have sought the midfielder from Standard Liege,
who himself is keen on the move according to representative, Paul Stefani.
"It is fantastic. He is very happy and excited because by FC Porto is realizing a dream ", he said, revealing the state of mind of the player: 'Defour said is this is an incredible opportunity, at a fantastic club.” The agent revealed.
Stefani also claimed that his client would be plying his trade in a bigger league and playing alongside illustrious company, it would pit him against stern opposition, which will arguably help him hone his skills even further.
“He will encounter stiff competition, but playing with big companions will help him become an even better player.” the business man was quoted as saying.
Although the transfer is imminent and will probably be completed shortly, a transfer fee has not yet been disclosed by either the Dragons or their Belgian counterparts; something which Paul Stefani claims is between the two clubs and which he cannot disclose:
"I cannot say anything about the subject. This is between the clubs,”
