Steven Defour shuns comparisons with former teammate Axel Witsel
Belgian International, Steven Defour, has said that comparisons of him with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Axel-Witsel-c7029 are baseless and that he is on a much better team than the Benfica midfielder.
Signing for FC Porto in the summer, Defour become the second player to arrive from Standard Liege to the Portuguese Primeira Liga, the other being Axel Witsel who joined the Eagles.
With his arrival, comparisons were drawn between the midfielder and his former teammate as they both played in the same position and also had the same languid style of controlling the game.
However, Defour has rebuffed them and said that he is different from Witsel, as he is plying his trade for a much bigger club that is better than Benfica.
”There can be no comparisons with Axel Witsel. I came to a team that won it all last year. Who won the championship with 21 points over second-placed [Benfica]. The level here is very high,” he said.
The Les Rouges International also gave his view on the Portuguese game and remarked that it’s much faster in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 than his homeland, something which he had to make up for in his training sessions.
"In the field of play, everything happens very quickly. We have to think even faster. When we enter a league with these features, you need to improve in training. After passing this step, try to play as much as possible,” Steven Defour was quoted saying.

Ruben Amorim returns to training for Benfica after successful recovery from a leg injury
