Steven Finn says that England will fight back in the first Ashes Test
Steven Finn has said that England will fight back against Australia in the first Ashes Test at Gabba. The third day definitely belonged to the Aussies, as England failed to dismiss the Australian side for a low score. The England
bowlers did not bowl that badly, but they were completely overshadowed by a brilliant partnership between Hussey and Brad Haddin. For England, many positives could be taken from their first innings bowling; as in different sessions, they did try their best
to get the batsmen out. On the second day, they were successful in taking the first 5 Aussie wickets for 143 runs. However, on the third day, they were not able to control a brilliant 307 runs partnership between Hussey and Haddin.
Steven Finn, who managed the figures of 6-125 in the first innings, was the pick of the English bowlers. He improved a lot from his second day’s performance and troubled the batsmen throughout. Steven Finn said that he enjoyed
the cricket on the third day, but he also accepted the fact that it was a tough day for the English side. England struggled in controlling the Australian lead as it stretched up to 221 runs. Steven Finn took 4 more wickets to manage his first 6 wicket haul
in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. A late recovery was witnessed from the English bowlers, when they dismissed the last five batsmen for 31 runs. Four of these wickets were taken by Steven Finn.
Steven Finn said that it was a great achievement for him, but he still believes there are a lot of areas that need improvement. Runs per over, is one area where Finn would have to look in the future as he went for quite a few runs
in his bowling spell. Michael Hussey struck 8 boundaries off Finn and managed 38 runs off his bowling. He gave 125 runs in his 33 overs, at an economy rate of 3.71.
Steven Finn was of the view that the way England has played for the last 18 months will help them fight back against the Aussies. England has displayed consistent performance in recent times and has not lost a Test series for a
year.
Finn further said that England bowled quite well on the third day and did everything they could to stop the Aussies. He also said that England kept the intensity level up in the field and kept the pressure on the Aussie batsmen.
