Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Sam Allardyce back Roy Hodgson to get it right at Arsenal

There have been reports suggesting that some of the senior players including Fernando Torres and Pepe Riena have lost faith in the methods of Roy Hodgson and are clearly dissatisfied by their current league form and position.
However, it is believed that Liverpool’s captain, Steven Gerrard, and vice-captain, Jamie Carragher, are fighting their managers’ case. They have been trying to reassure other senior players at Anfield and would like them to back
the new manager for at least until the Christmas period, to get things right.
Liverpool is lying 19th in the league and should West Ham take something away from their game against Newcastle on Saturday, they will go into their game against Blackburn on Sunday bottom of the table.
There have been reports of a bust up between Roy Hodgson and Fernando Torres, however, Hodgson has laughed off claims of any such incident. He told media that he does not look into such stories which are completely made up and
away from reality.
“It's sad really that we should have to put up with things like this”, he said. “People write the most ridiculous things, like I'm having fights with Fernando Torres. Just ridiculous. Someone told me yesterday that they had me
falling out with the rest of my staff, and then they had me resigning. I wouldn't take it too seriously, if I were you, I really wouldn't."
Roy claims that he has got the backing of his dressing-room, staff, and everyone around the place. He believes that they are all trying to work as a team and committed to get the best results on the pitch.
Hodgson will go into this game knowing that any result other than a resounding victory and he would be under the knife. However, Hodgson is adamant that he will get it right and he has the support of everyone.
Meanwhile, Blackburn’s Boss, Sam Allardyce has given his backing to the under fire Liverpool manager. He feels the sentiments of the Liverpool manager Hodgson and believes that it’s not easy in today’s time to be a manager whose
team is failing to perform. All the blame goes to the manager whereas players and owners are given respite.
"I feel for Roy and he's taking the brunt of the criticism", said Allardyce. "As a manager you get the blame because we don't live in the world of reality. Instead, we live in the world of perception and you are blamed for something
which isn't your fault."
The former Bolton manager believes that Hodgson is the man to get things right at Liverpool and should be given his fair share of chance to prove his worth. He is of the opinion that Roy has little fault of his own that his team
are in the relegation zone and has given Roy the vote of confidence that he will be able to get things right sooner rather than later.
The former Bolton and Newcastle manager knows that it’s a good time to play against Liverpool, as they are a team short of confidence. Allardyce’s team used to annoy Rafael Benitez with their tactics, and Roy would be fully aware
of what could be thrown at them come Sunday.
This will be the first time in many years that a manager of Blackburn Rovers is going to Liverpool and find themselves above the Anfield club. It would suggest that Blackburn should be feeling confident about their chances of getting
the right result.
Although, Liverpool are not in good form and there seems to be a lack of confidence among the players, Blackburn cannot afford to take Liverpool lightly as its only a matter of time before they start clicking again.
Liverpool will be without the services of Glen Johnson and Dirk Kuyt. However, Roy can call back Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres to the starting line-up after the pair was rested for the midweek Europa league tie against Napoli.
