England skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 believes that the confidence level in the Three Lions dressing room is much higher than what it was during their World Cup 2010 campaign in South Africa, and his team are like an ‘unbreakable’ unit.
England experienced a disappointing trip to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello’s team managed to
score just 2 goals and played out a disappointing 0-0 draw against a colourless http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Algeria-c2835.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 to a 1-1 draw in the opener and followed it
with a sensational 3-2 win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015.
Gerrard felt that despite boosting arguably one of the best squads in the country’s history during the 2010 World Cup, the atmosphere in the current England dressing room was much better than what they had in South Africa.
He told the reporters in an interview, “I think together as a team at times it feels like we are unbreakable. There is a lot of belief and confidence in the dressing room - very different from South Africa.”
The win against Sweden on Friday meant that the Three Lions require just a single point out of their final group game against Ukraine to secure a quarterfinal berth.
Although the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 talisman was in awe for his team’s fighting instinct during the game, he was also quick on highlighting some of the weaker links, insisting that they need to defend set-pieces better.
England conceded both their goals against Erik Hamren’s side from free-kicks.
Gerrard added, “We showed a lot of character but the disappointing thing is I felt as if we shouldn't have needed to…We lost concentration on two set-pieces and were punished. I thought in our general play we were very good. At this level we have got to
iron out those mistakes.”
