Liverpool’s captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 has admitted that the countless points that Liverpool have dropped, have led to them being out of the title race.
The Reds have not lost a single home game this season, but have managed to draw seven of the games that they played at Anfield.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international, Gerrard has revealed that in order to contend for the title, teams can’t even dream of dropping so many points.
At the moment, the midfielder is looking to take on Tottenham in the Premier League and is hoping for his side to come away with all three points from the game.
Gerrard, when talking about Liverpool’s performances this season is quoted to have said:  “When he comes out after the performance like the one against Bolton and criticises you, you have to be big enough to take it on the chin and react.
“He was justified in what he said. Performances like that are not acceptable and that's the reason we're not in the title race at the moment - because of the slip-ups against teams we should have beaten.”
"We've had too many draws at home - and we won't get involved or win the league until we manage to overcome dropping points against these sort of teams.”
What is rather strange about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, is the fact that they manage to produce favourable results against the top teams in the league, but end up falling apart against the much weaker teams.
Many believe that the only reason this happens is because the team lack focus and quality. However, with the amount of money the team has spent bringing in players over the last year, they have ample players and talent to win just about any game.
The team has managed to reach the Carling Cup final and even knocked out Manchester United in the FA Cup.
Should the play in the league, the way that they played in the cup competitions, they could have easily been sitting in the top four at the moment.
Nonetheless, the Reds needs to learn from the mistakes that they made this season, as they come back next season looking to contend for the Premier League crown.
