Steven Gerrard claims Chelsea striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 let Liverpool down
Liverpool http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 has gone on to state that Fernando Torres let him and Liverpool down when he made his big money move to Chelsea in January.
Torres left for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 used the opportunity to secure the services of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll during the same transfer window.
When talking about Suarez, Torres and the whole saga, Gerrard is reported to have said, "Suarez has only played a few games but we know he will be a top player. Training and playing with him in his first few games he has been strong and technically good,
but Fernando in his first year with us was frightening as well."
He then went on to add, "But I think Liverpool are in a better position having two top forwards instead of one. I enjoyed playing behind Fernando but if you said I could have Fernando on form or Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez on form, I would take the two
over one."
However, the player ended by stating that he was kind of disappointed by Torres’ actions and that the player should have stayed at the club. Gerrard ended by stating, "We felt slightly let down, like the supporters we wanted him to stay as he is a top player.
But he made his decision and we have to respect that"
So far, ever since his move to Chelsea, Torres has failed to score a single goal and has looked to be nothing short of a disappointment. In fact, some experts have already gone on to state that the player has been one of the worst signings ever made in the
history of the Premier League.
On the other hand, Luis Suarez has looked highly impressive in his short spell with Liverpool. The player has managed to make only five appearances for the team, but has already scored two goals and has looked to be one of the best players in the league.
His single handed demolition of Manchester United was all that it took to win the fans and the footballing world over.
Andy Carroll was however bought injured by the Reds and has only recently managed to return to full fitness. The player has made four appearances for the team but has not managed to find the back of the net yet. However, his movement and involvement in the
games has easily been far better than that of Torres’ for Chelsea.
