Steven Gerrard confident of success next season – Football news

The Liverpool skipper is confident that his side will be able to bring success back to Anfield next season. He claimed that the club has improved rapidly in the last few months and there is a great chance that Liverpool will end
up in the top four at the end of the next campaign.
The Reds finished last season in seventh place and were unable to qualify for any European competitions. They will be playing only in the English Premier League next season unlike their opponents, who have either UEFA Champions
League or UEFA Europa League under their belt.
Gerrard claimed that he has a very good feeling ahead of the new season. He admitted that the team is playing well in the pre-season campaign and there have been some valuable additions to the squad also.
“Is success around the corner? I hope so. We have bought well in the off-season and if we can get another two players in key areas then we have a good chance,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the skipper insisted that he has a very good relationship with manager Brendan Rodgers and is looking forward to the relationship to grow. He admitted that the side is moving in the right direction and is happy
with the results currently. He is anticipating a great season in which the club can win some silverware.
“We have a great relationship. Brendan has shown a lot of faith in me both on and off the field. It is early days but I am sure our relationship will continue to grow. We are moving in the right direction. We are playing nice football
and hopefully the owners continue to back him and he is able to add to the squad to make it stronger so we can compete for trophies,” he concluded.
