Steven Gerrard hoping for good support from the English fans
The English football team is going to play a friendly match against Hungary. It will be their first match after suffering a humiliating defeat from Germany by 4-0 in the World Cup’s round of 16 stage. The hopes of the English national team are still not high as they have not still been able to recover from the psychological trauma after being thrashed by the Germans.
Recently in a press conference, English football team captain and veteran midfielder Steven Gerrard said that he is still not feeling mentally fit to compete against any bigger opponent because the way the English team performed in the World cup was pretty disappointing.
Gerrard expressed his views and said that his team is in need of support and some players are expecting remarkable support for England from their fans in the match against Hungary which is going to be held at Wembley. While talking about the upcoming match, Gerrard said that his team is under pressure and in need of serious support and love, as to gain confidence and support from the fans is always essential. He added that we have to give our best in the match as our performance was very discouraging in the World Cup. The Liverpool FC midfielder said that his hopes are high and they have worked hard to get a stronger comeback but only time will tell which team is going to be the winner in the stadium during the match.
While talking about the changes made by the Italian ace coach Fabio Capello, Gerrard told the media that he is very happy with the way Capello has worked. The changes being made in the national team squad will help them in a positive way.
English team is now joined by young talented blood, Jack Wilshire and Kieran Gibbs. Jack and Gibbs play for prestigious football club, Arsenal as well and Gerrard believes that this pair will be a great addition to the English squad. While talking about young emerging players the English captain said that changes made in the squad were necessary for a better future team.
He said that these players will learn with time to improve their skills and will perform at the highest level for England in the future. He added that the important thing is that they are going to face their national crowd in the match. They are expecting a good support from them. He added that the English players who played in the South Africa World Cup deserve the signs of discouragement from the crowd but the crowd should welcome the new emerging players warmly because they are the future of England and they were not in the squad of the World Cup. Gerrard is still keen and has a strong faith in his team. He says that most of the players are eager to give their best as they want to prove and test themselves under challenging circumstances.
The match against Hungary at Wembley is assumed to be a very good match for both the teams. For the English football team this match is going to be a vital test as they have to prove themselves strong before their home crowd. It is the time for them to stay put and keep their focus towards their winning target as they cannot afford to lose anymore.
