Manager Brendan Rodgers placed his trust in the likes of Raheem Sterling, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102, Andre Wisdom and Suso last season and all the players were brilliant when they played for the first team.
Gerrard claimed that the youngsters from last season have to become men now as the club needs some great players from the academy to come forward and challenge for places. The player stated that there are some extremely talented players and urged all of
them to keep working hard until they get their chances.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international is impressed by the way Sterling and Henderson have made their way to the first team and is stating that the next season is a big one for these lads.
“You only get described as a young lad for a certain amount of time and then it's time to become a man and perform on a consistent basis. There is great talent at the club at a young age; the manager has been trying to get a young group of players together
that can perform well for him. It's a big season for a lot of players - you look at Sterling and Henderson,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, the attacking midfielder, who had a shoulder surgery at the start of the summer, hailed Rodgers as a great manager. He admitted that the tactician keeps giving youngsters chances which is the reason they stay motivated.  
“The manager is fantastic with the way he does it; he invites a lot of young players down to train with the team all the time,” he concluded.
Liverpool finished the last season in seventh place and failed to qualify for a place in any of the European competitions. They are determined to challenge for a top four place in the next season and have spent heavily on new players this summer also.
