Steven Pienaar relishing link-up with former teammate Rafael van der Vaart
Tottenham’s latest addition http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Pienaar-c34208, has gone on to state that he is more than convinced that he has made the right choice with joining the team at the White Hart Lane. The player then went on to state, despite being really happy about making the
switch to the North London side, what has really gotten him excited is the prospect of him linking up with his former team-mate, Rafael van der Vaart.
The South African international, made the switch to the White Hart Lane this month, for a fee rumoured to be around the region of two and a half million pounds. However the player made the switch to the side, after snubbing another London team who also happen
to be the reigning Champions of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, but after failing to agree personal terms with the side he opted to make the move to Tottenham instead.
The twenty eight year old could go on to make his debut for Tottenham, this weekend when the team takes on Newcastle. The new number 40 at Tottenham then went on to add that he made the smartest possible choice, by joining Harry Redknapp. This is because
not only is the player convinced that he is at the right club, but he is also overly confident that a link-up with Van Der Vaart once again, could be just what he needs to show everyone what he is capable of.
The player is reported to have said, "The style of football is really important. I played with Rafa [van der Vaart] at Ajax and we played attacking football. I want to be in a team that plays attacking football that is exciting for the supporters to watch.
"I am definitely looking forward to playing with him again - but not just Rafa, all the players here because the football is exciting, it makes me excited and I can't wait. That is one of the reasons I decided to join Spurs," he added.
There is no doubt that Pienaar is a player who has creativity flowing through his veins. If he can continue to display the same form that he had at Everton, then he could prove to be the just what Tottenham need to push for the top four and maybe even the
title at the end of the season.
Ever since his arrival to the Premier League, with Everton from Borussia Dortmund, the midfielder has been in exceptional form. He has gone on to be the sole saviour for the Toffees on a number of occasions. His abilities were really highlighted last season,
when Everton were forced to play-out most of their campaign without their other midfield maestro http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikel-Arteta-c25715. However despite the Spaniard being missing from the squad, the Everton side didn’t seem to miss a beat and this was mainly due to the brilliant performances
that Pienaar was putting in week-in and week-out.
On the other hand, Everton finished eighth in the league last season mostly thanks to the South African’s brilliance and, were on the brink of qualifying for Europe. On the flipside, this season Pienaar had not been the same happy camper at the Everton camp
and the team is currently sitting in the twelfth spot, and are on a constant battle to avoid the drop zone. This simple fact just goes to show the impact that Pienaar can have on a team.
According to most experts, if the midfielder can continue to perform with the same intensity at White Hart Lane and remain content and satisfied with what he is doing, then he could potentially lead the team the glory, Tottenham had only dreamt about.
