http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Pienaar-c34208, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder on loan to Everton, has revealed he is uncertain of where he will end up in the summer.
The South African joined Tottenham Hotspur from Everton last summer in a permanent move but was unable to secure a place in the first team. It was then that he decided to re-join Everton in a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
During his time at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 Pienaar scored four goals in fourteen matches, a good tally compared to his barren spell at White Hart Lane. In the last game of the season, a 3-1 win over Newcastle United, Pienaar was in tears as he bade farewell to Goodison
Park.
He revealed he wished to thank his fans for their continued support and that he wished to say goodbye since he did not know where he would end up in the summer transfer window. One thing is certain though, it is highly unlikely that Pienaar will remain at
Tottenham Hotspur past the summer.
Pienaar said in an interview:
“It's hard. The first time I left I didn't say goodbye, this time around it's a bit sad. I just want to say thanks for the support from day one. I really appreciate it.
It means a lot to me, this club. Let's just see what will happen in the summer.”
Even though Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp did not prefer Pienaar in the starting XI, he was missed as the London side faced injury problems in the second half of the season. However, Pienaar’s return to Everton did help the club return to winning
ways.
Despite their struggles which had them destined to a bottom of the table place, Everton have managed a seventh place finish, above rivals Liverpool for the first time in seven years.
He revealed:
“Finishing above http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 is unbelievable feeling and in the second half of the season the guys were fantastic. I was glad to be a part of that.
For me it was important to finish the way I started - with a goal.
I think my loan spell went well. I am pleased with myself.”
