Steven "Pepsi" Hale and Keegan Bradley team up by accident
Keegan Bradley and his bagman Steven "Pepsi" Hale are in the headlines for their unusual partnership made by accident. However, a more important factor that has highlighted Bradley's relationship with his caddie is his victory in the PGA Championship.
Caddies play a crucial role in helping players perform better on the course, which is why their induction is always considered an important step for players.
However, Keegan Bradley teamed up with Steven "Pepsi" Hale dramatically, as he was searching for a new bagman earlier this year.
Pepsi, who was engaged with another player, Jamie Lovemark, did not express his intentions to quit his job.
Bradley, while playing practice rounds with Lovemark and Pepsi, had made up his mind about taking on board a new caddie.
Meanwhile, Pepsi recommended another prospective caddie who was most likely willing to take up the vacant position.
However, Pepsi was working with his boss smoothly, when a sudden and an unexpected turn of events brought his career came to a halt. Lovemark got injured, leaving Pepsi with no choice but to look for other options.
Keegan, who was waiting for the new caddie to show up, got hold of Pepsi yet again to find out if the new caddie was willing and able to start off with practice sooner than anticipated.
Pepsi let Bradley know about his availability for the job, saying he was already out of work. "I need help finding a job now, too," he told Bradley of his situation.
Pepsi had to face a little trouble getting approval from Bradley, as the American was not willing to ignore the other caddie who had already shown his willingness to team up with the star player.
Bradley put Pepsi on hold and suggested they give a call to the bagman willing to join him. Pepsi was in luck, as the potential caddie decided to remain with his current boss.
Although filled with plenty of excitement and drama, the Bradley-Pepsi partnership proved quite successful.
The 25-year-old played an intense practice match and admitted that his new caddie (Pepsi) bolstered his confidence and game. "It's as good as it gets on tour. You can't ask for anything more. When I look at it, I could say, 'Yeah, I could live here in the
summer' ".
