Felipe opened the scoring at the stroke of half-time to give the home side the lead at the interval. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lewis-Holtby-c22175 scored two times in 12 minutes to give Die Knappen a one goal advantage over Die Roten. However,
the Royal Blues’ party was spoilt when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Adrian-Nikci-c3745 found the net in the 80th minute of the game.
Huub Stevens admitted that his side should have kept the lead and went on to win the game. He insisted that the team conceded a poor goal with just 10 minutes to go in the match and lost the chance of claiming all three points
in the end.
The manager praised his side for making a strong comeback after the interval and stated that the players looked determined to perform against a very good Hannover side.
“Unfortunately we weren't effective enough. We put in a good performance against a side with a very good home record but unfortunately we failed to reward ourselves. Although we played well in the first 45 minutes we went in at
half-time behind. We recovered well despite conceding just before the break. Overall, though, it was a very competent performance and I'm pleased with that,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Die Roten manager Mirko Slomka was satisfied with the result. He admitted that Schalke played better football and that his side was lucky to walk away with a point.
“That's a point won for us. It was a very dominant and attacking display by the visitors. Schalke were even more dominant in the second half,” he concluded.
Schalke will take on FC Augsburg whereas Hannover 96 will travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 for their respective next games in the Bundesliga.
