He WAS a very good ring technician and he was very dominant when he was the WBC lightweight titleholder.  He was a good counterpuncher from his southpaw stance and was very good defensively in his prime.  However, he no longer is the same fighter, and after seeing him get dominated and then knocked out in the last round by Edner Cherry, it is clear that his time has passed and he needs to retire.
