Stewards summon the aggressive Lewis Hamilton once again
The ever so aggressive driver is once again outrageous. After being summoned by the race stewards on Friday, McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton was once again asked to appear before them on Saturday after his violent stunt on the track
during the qualifying.
The British driver has always been famous for his aggressive racing style when it comes to achieving tough targets. Friday’s practice session ahead of the last and final race of the season, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, saw the driver
trying rough on the track.
Bruno Senna of HRT was hardly able to escape a bad collision as the belligerent young man passed by the driver making an aggressive cutting across the bow of his car. Following the incident, the stewards called Hamilton and formally
reprimanded him for his move. However, the preoccupied driver hardly heard any word.
All that runs in his mind at the moment is to lay his hands on the second championship of his career. The task is next to impossible and the driver himself declared after the last round in Brazil that only a ‘miracle’ could grant
him the title now. Still, the young British driver is far from giving up. He is fully determined and willing to turn fortunes towards him, no matter what it takes to do so.
While talking to the media after the triumphant results of Friday’s practice, the racer said, "It's do or die. I have to take more risks and be more aggressive than I have all year to get what I want.”
Now, as the qualifying took place yesterday (Saturday), the driver did not spare even the slimmest chance of moving ahead of his rivals. This time he put himself in trouble while he rushed past the Ferrari driver, Felipe Massa,
in order to qualify on the front row for the Sunday’s race.
At the out-laps in Q2, it seemed that the unwavering young man came in the way of the Ferrari driver. It almost looked as if Hamilton was going to drive into Massa and hit the corner, but only at the last moment it all turned out
to be all right and Hamilton moved past.
Following the move, the 25-year-old said on his car’s radio that it must have been Massa's mistake. As the qualifying ended, the Brazilian replied to this comment saying that Hamilton must have gone "crazy".
However, the incident is still under investigation by the FIA officials who will make the final announcement ahead of Sunday’s race.
In case of Hamilton getting a penalty, the already tough battle will become even tougher for him.
Currently, the 2008 World Champion stands at 4th place in the points’ tally. He is 24-points short of the charts’ topper, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari, while the two Red Bull drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel hold
the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
With just 25 points to play for at the last race, the only black driver of the series not only needs to win the race, but also needs some ill fortune for all the other forerunners.
To grant him the title, Alonso needs to finish out of points, while the Red Bull duo must end below the podium. Although the chances of such a dramatic finish are next to none, yet the driver is adamant to continue his fight until
the very end of the rope.
On his return from the track on Friday evening, the chocolate-skinned man said that he would be driving even more aggressively than ever before this Sunday.
He concluded saying, "I'd give everything I possess to win this championship -- all the strength, determination and will in my heart."
