England wingers, Ashley Young and Stewart Downing have gone on to state that they are looking to help http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 bag all three points in their upcoming game against Montenegro.
The player’s made these comments following their win against Wales last night, which came via a solitary goal from Young, which was assisted by Stewart Downing’s pass.
England didn’t look to be at their best against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Earnshaw managed to score in an empty goal, but due to his miss, England are now sitting firm on top of Group G in the Euro 2012 qualifiers.
Young, when talking about the game went on to state that the three points that the team picked up were going to prove to be crucial to them performing even better in their next game and hopefully it would result in the team securing their spot in the Euro 2012.
"We wanted to get the three points to boost our chances of getting to the top of the group and we have done that."
"The performance wasn’t great but you go out to win the game and that’s what we’ve done."
Downing then went on to state almost exactly what Young had stated, as he also admitted the three points was what was important at the end of the day.
"We’re here as a team and we’re a little bit disappointed with the way we played at times but I think the main thing is getting the three points."
Young then went on to turn his attention to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Montenegro-c2959. England’s opponents are currently sitting in the second spot and don't really stand a chance of catching up, looking at the point difference between the two sides.
However, Young has admitted that should everyone manage to stay fit, then England have a very good chance of progressing from the game with all three points on the night.
"Everybody’s got to keep themselves fit"
Young then went on to confidently conclude by adding:
"We’ve got another tough game coming up against Montenegro away. We’ve got to prepare well for that and I’m sure we’ll come away with three points if we put in a good performance."
