Stewart Downing and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Young-c6813 to quit Liverpool, Arsenal to sign defender, Manchester United to keep Owen
Stewart Downing and Ashley Young to be on their way out of Villa Park
It seems that two of Aston Villa’s top dogs are set to be on their way out of the club in the summers. This is because, both, Ashley Young and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stewart-Downing-c34221 are now almost guaranteed to be on their way out of Villa Park, within the next few weeks.
At the moment, Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are being hailed as the favourites to land Young, with United apparently having a slight edge over Liverpool.
On the other hand, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Liverpool seem to be the only teams contesting to snap up Downing, should he be up for a transfer.
Arsene Wenger hints at signing of defender
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has come forth and hinted that Arsenal might just be on course to signing a defender within the next few weeks.
In a recent interview, when talking about Arsenal’s potential summer targets and transfers, the manager is quoted to have said: "We're also after an experienced defender, maybe one who is already used to life in the Premier League. That has been our weakness."
Manchester United to keep hold of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355
When it was being stated that Manchester United were on course to have a major clear-out at the club, one of the first names to be linked with a move away from the team, was, Michael Owen.
However, contrary to popular belief, it now seems like United are willing to offer the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international a one year extension, on his current contract with the club.
This news, is going to be a little hard for most United fans to swallow, since it all but confirms the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 from Old Trafford.
Nicklas Bendtner worth £12 million?
It seems like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicklas-Bendtner-c27726’s agent, who is also his dad, feels that the striker is worth around at least twelve million pounds.
The manager/dad, when talking about the potential market price for his son/client, is reported to have said: "As an agent for Nicklas, I am not told the specific price that Arsenal want. Clubs will sort that out between each other," said Thomas.
"Around £12m sounds very realistic. He has been higher, but the price goes down when he is not playing enough.
"Nicklas has all the qualities to live up to that sort of money, and we can easily find him a club which wants to pay that amount of money."
At the moment, the only reason for the agent to be making those comments, can be summed down to the fact that Bendtner is now looking for a move away from the Emirates.
