Steyr M95 Carbine, anyone? anyone?

  1. They were initialy adopted  (as you might guess) in 1895 by the Austro-Hungarian Empire.  They were originally chambered for a 8x50 mm rimmed cartridge. There rifle was adopted/retain by Hungary  when it became independent after WWI. In the years  following Hungary wanted a more powerful round and theie rifle were rechambered for a 8x56 mm cartridge. Most of those comming in now are chambered for the Hungarian 8x56R round. These rifle were replace dring WWII by a rifle M43 chambered for the standard 8x57 round. Most of the Hungarian M-95 served as weapons for rear echelon troops during WWII and are there by in good condition. They are well made and can be very accurate. Commercial and Surplus ammo is availible  though the surplus has corrosive primers and requires special cleaning.  The carbine requires the use of a 5 round clip to function as a repeater.
