Saturday i was in a car accident and i have stiches in both arms and obviously lots of scabs all over my arms and legs...they itch a lot and as far as i know the ER said to let them get air...but my dad thinks if i keep them moister they won't itch... when i take a shower or put hydrogen peroxide on the scabs they get gooey and nasty...what should i do??

  1. Well you shouldnt get it moist.

  2. omg i hope your okay sounds like a pretty bad accident...i had stitches and i was told to air them out too i havent been putting peroxide on but betadine the orange/reddish stuff they use to disinfect wounds they use it in surgery too if they are getting itchy i would say that they are ready to come out usually it only takes a week depending the severity of the cut when did they tell you they needed to come out?? use neosporin not on the wound but on the surrounding skin hope this helps and feel better!!:)

well if the said 2 weeks maybe call the doctor do the wounds that have the stitches in them look closed up to you? if they do i would def call the dr and see if he can take them out sooner as for  the itching you can also ask if you could use cortizone cream around it
