I have a compaq presario C700 Laptop, and last night my little brother spilled coke on it. The joy of having younger siblings. Not much got spilled on it, and it's working perfectly fine. Except, for the fact that the keyboard keeps sticking. The keys still work and everything since not much got on it, But they wont stop sticking.

For the most part, they can press down and they don't stick too much so that they stay down, but they are very loud and annoying, and make alot of noise when I type. some keys are even stuck completely. I've tried every thing I could to clean them, I've taken every key out and cleaned them the best I could, i've cleaned around them with alcohol swabs, i've even soaked the keys in hot water, but nothing seems to work.. Maybe I wasn't cleaning them right?

  1. ummmm do you know cleaning solutions? the one used in cleaning watches? they can be used to remove those sticky parts on your keyboard. this is also used in cleaning the inside of mobile phones (hope this helps)

if you don't have cleaning solutions, i think alcohol would also do. (though i prefer the solution)

  2. yes try cleaning. go to your manufacturers website, and download your laptops service manual. it will show you how to disassemble the keyboard, along with the hole laptop. if worse comes to worse, you can always check e-bay for a replacement keyboard

  3. Yes Cleaning is must there now.
