  1. A stiff stick is best for someone who is strong and has a hard shot to begin with.   Flex is a good thing.  Being 5'5 and 125  u want a stick with lots of flex and not Stiff.  As you Shoot,  your stick will bend with the resistance of gravity.  The stronger you are the more flex in the stick you will get. When you shoot the blade of the stick will actually behind the shaft of the stick fromt he resistance of gravity.  As u follow through the blade will "catch up" to the shaft causing more force on the puck giving u a harder, faster shot.  At your size, buy a stick with more flex and not stiff.

Definitely ok to still use it.  The Next time you buy a stick, just get one with more flex.   U will notice the difference with ur shot.  But for now its fine.  You will really notice the flex and the speed and hardness of ur wrist shot with a more flex stick. As you get bigger u will want the stiffer stick.

  2. a stiff flex doesnt break as easily

but if you dont have strong muscles then your shot will be slower.

pretty much you have to put in a lot more energy to get a faster shot.

  4. The advantages of using a stiff stick include making puck control easier, and a quicker release of your shot. With your size a stiff stick will decrease the power of your shot because when taking a slap shot, you hit the ice before the puck, this bends the stick back and when you move closer to the puck the blade snaps forward increasing the speed at which your stick hits the puck, and in turn it increases the speed of your shot. Therefore a less stiff stick will bend back more, and move forward at a much higher speed then a stick that dosen't bend back.
