Question:

Still A Flea Problem with my Cat!!?

Ok, I cleaned the carpets, vacuumed, raided them, used random flea products and some foggers for this one room that has millions of billions of fleas in just one small room! Ok... That room still has fleas but it is far away from all the other rooms. Then we gave my cat a flea bath, used flea shampoo, got advantics, used that, got this spray for him, sprayed him all over, got him a flea coller. So, all the fleas in the house should be gone, right?

Nope. There are flea eggs and fleas over every inch of my kittens skin, even with clean floors.

WTF IS THE PROBLEM???

Can someone please suggest something that will work on my flea-ridden kitten?

  1. I did it for about 10 years when I had indoor outdoor kitties, now only indoor, so no need any more but it was a life savor!!

How I got rid of fleas and bugs from my home

You will need to purchase a simple bug/fly zapper; the type you use on a patio to kill flying insects.  You can buy a small one that will cover a large area of your house at most home improvement stores for as little as 20.00-30.00 dollars.  For faster results you can use one bug zapper for each room.  However the fleas do gravitate to the bug zapper’s light once night sets in and all the lights in your house are out. So one should work for a small home, just make sure to place it in the room where the most fleas are seen or felt.   Place the zapper on the floor in a corner behind a piece of furniture so kids and pets won’t play with or bother it. Set it on a plate or pie tin for easy cleaning up of the zapped bugs, you will be killing all bugs in your home as well, and then plug it in.  Remember, it is a piece of electrical equipment.  You have to use caution in where you put it. At night the fleas automatically want to go to a light, when they hop in to the bug zapper light they get fried! You can actually hear little, zits, zits when the fleas are getting zapped! All GONE! Keep the carpet vacuumed daily until your flea problem is under control, this will help tremendously in getting the fleas eggs out of your home and carpet faster!!  I am not responsible for misuse of the above item.  Use full caution in placing your bug zapper to the safest place.  It will work for months, even years; it will continue to kill bugs in your home as long as the light is on.  The bulb can be replaced once it burns out.  The light bulb can be purchased at most home improvement stores. http://www.samstores.com/_images/product...

  2. front line for cats will work i had such a problem with my persian cats and fleas,

~you also need to vac *** your place twice a day for the next 6 months to be sure the fleas and eggs are gone and good luck

  3. Do you mean advantage? Advantix is used for dogs, it should not be applied to cats. IF it is advantage...are you applying it and then giving him a flea bath? Advantage(or advantix for that matter) is not water proof. If you apply it and then give him a bath, you are just washing the medicine off and it will not work. Either wash the cat in a safe flea shampoo(i recommend either vetkim or adams shampoo) and wait until the cat is fully dry before applying it, or apply it and wait at least 2 days before bathing. Advantage is safe enough to be used every 3 weeks if needed. Frontline isn't. Frontline is waterproof though.

Flea products bought from wal-mart or any similar type of store do not work. Flea collars will only repel the fleas(if it even does that) around the neck area. They fleas will just got around the collar, and we have had cats come in with severe reactions to both the flea collars and the flea medicine. I do not recommend these products at all. Frontline or advantage may cost more, but they are worth it.

You need to treat your house, and your yard for the fleas. One of the products i recommend is a house and yard spray called siphotrol. They make a house and  yard spray. Treat at least 2 times, 2 weeks apart. The first time you'll kill the adult fleas, the second time you'll kill the fleas that have hatched from the eggs.

My suggestion, is wash the kitten first in a safe flea shampoo. Wait until the cat is fully dried and apply either frontline or advantage. Most people prefer advantage because it works fast, the flea doesn't have to bite before it dies.(the minute the flea jumps on the animal, the fleas mouth is paralyzed, it cant eat and will die, frontline the flea has to actually bite before it is paralyzed.) But remember, advantage is not waterproof.

Then treat both your house and your yard. Wash everything, vacuum everything, etc. You might want to either board the kitten temporally while you treat he house, or have a friend or someone watch him.
